MONUMENTS – Animus

Fluctuate with waves bending on the threshold of glory
Changing shape inside an ocean filled with my deepest desires
Following the siren’s call from every direction
To show me what I am
A passenger in a foreign land

Astray, and void of purpose
I’ve wandered aimlessly
The flames beyond the surface
Now guiding me

To set me free

Searching for a moment of clarity
To bring me towards the future that I was destined to live

Shedding my disguise, I realize I am desensitized
By all the cries to compromise
A life I have visualized through bleeding eyes
Immobilized by the turning tides

And how long must I keep on reaching
For worlds beyond my grasp?

Before collapse?
